Lanie's Simple Life: Zoey is my sweet sweet furkid

I haven't posted any pictures of my Zoey girl. I adopted her at the Corona Animal shelter Feb 5, 2015. This is what she looked like.

Her hair on her body was so matted and long that you couldn't see her legs or paws.

So I called the hospital and asked them to shave her completely down. So they did. This is Zoey when I picked her up after her surgery.

So for the next 1-2 months it was getting to know Zoey and her personality and hoping she would get a long with my old golden retriever Rootbeer. He is 15 y.o. They got a long right away with each other like old Friends, and Rootbeer looking after Zoey.

I bought Zoey dresses. I swore I would never dress a furkid, but I changed my mind. She was a little bit of trouble in the beginning. First it was my shade at the front door she tore apart.

Then the carpet in my master bedroom she decided to pull apart at the seam.

I couldn't yell at her for fear I would freak her out since she lived on the streets from a puppy to a year old when I got her. I was very patient with her as she pee'd and pee'd on my carpet. I was patient with Zoey when she wouldn't eat in front of anyone except me. I was patient with Zoey as she crawled in bed with me and would growl at Ron if he touched. So I gave in.

So here is some pictures of my Zoey as she lives with us and got adjusted to us, the mobile groomer and making this her forever home.

I never thought I would love a little dog as I love Zoey. She is always right behind me where ever I go now.

My little princess

Oct was a busy month for me. First off Zoey got her first grooming by the mobile groomer Misty Mobile .

Man was I afraid. Zoey wouldn't let anyone touch her except me, or hold her. So when Misty walked up to the front door, I introduced her to Zoey and Rootbeer and walked back to the truck with Zoey in my arms and when we got to her door, I just handed her over and walked away, back into the house. Half hour later she comes back with Zoey all nicely groomed and said "She was a perfect Angel".
